About the Team


Founder, CEO and Chief Designer

Alan Horais brings more than 30 years of industrial and product design leadership to Horais Design as he guides the company's development of unique recreational water sports equipment and accessories. Al spent close to 20 years with Walt Disney Imagineering as Senior Principal Production Designer, where he led Hong Kong Disneyland's Tomorrowland project, directing concept, art direction, and production. He was a key contrtibutor to the overall success of various Disney projects at Epcot and Downtown Disney, especially in vehicle design and engineering. Following his tenure with Disney, Al was Chief Design Engineer for Scenario Design and then, Creative Director for Thinkwell Design. He started his career in prototype design and fabrication and has been a successful consultant in developing designs for clients in the automotive, aerospace and recreational industries. Al received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design from the University of Cincinnati.

Chief Operations Officer

Richard Vicenzi has over 15 years overseeing corporate functions, including operations management, strategic planning, organizational development, and project management. He also has provided guidance to various organizations, including transition management, intervention design, training, and facilitation. Currently, Richard is a Principal Consultant for DBM, and has also held executive and internal consulting positions with Lee Hecht Harrison, Los Angeles Free Clinic, and Northrop Corporation. Earlier in his career, Richard served for 6 years as Managing Partner for Proctor & Davis, a human resources consulting firm. He has presented at several international conferences, most recently "Globalization and Creative Abrasion: Impacts on Performance" at the 11th World Congress on Total Quality Management in Wellington New Zealand. Richard earned his BA in Economics, and his MBA from UCLA.

Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Daryl Joslin has more than 30 years experience in strategic sales and marketing for companies ranging from start-ups to Global 100 companies including Procter & Gamble, Pepsi, and Vivendi-Universal. For the past 15 years, she has been noted for expanding new brands and successfully building start-up businesses through results-driven integrated marketing and sales. In her various positions, she has established and burnished a reputation for contributing to the innovation of products and services from the customer's perspective, for effectively handling corporate communications, and for managing the totality of sales and marketing aspects, including brand positioning, advertising, customer acquisition and retention, direct-marketing, and creative services. Daryl most recently was Vice President of Marketing for CEIVA Logic, an innovative consumer electronics company. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral Psychology and Business from the College of William and Mary.

Vice President, Production

Paul Spatrisano has over 25 years of providing turnkey product solutions that create the perfect blend of aesthetics, functionality and cost effective manufacturing. He is the founder and owner of VFI International, a company that has successfully been designing, developing, and manufacturing products for 20 years for the banking, consumer products, gaming, entertainment, and trade show industries. An expert in the fabrication of products in a wide variety of materials, Paul operates on four foundation principles: world standard quality, on-time delivery, strict adherence to budget, and green manufacturing processes. Paul has been a strong proponent and practitioner of an environmentally responsible approach to design and manufacturing processes from the outset of his career.
